NHC says 60% chance of cyclone over Cabo Verde Islands

(Reuters) - A broad area of low pressure formed in association with a tropical wave located a few hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands has a 60% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Monday.

"Showers and thunderstorms continue to gradually increase in association with the system, and environmental conditions appear conducive for further development," the Miami Based forecaster said.
